Every Ontario resident deserves access to excellent health care. VHA continues to build new ways for our community to receive the care they need, when and where they need it.

This Spring, VHA was excited to take part in the opening of the brand-new Sheppard West Clinic in North York as part of a new partnership with Ontario Health atHome.

The clinic, located at 778 Sheppard Ave. W., Unit 104., provides appointment-based ambulatory care to Ontario Health atHome clients. During their visits, clients are able to access wound care, IV therapy, medical injections and other nursing service from a team of VHA nurses.

On hand for opening day was VHA’s President and CEO Dr. Kathryn Nichol, to celebrate not only the opening of the clinic but the continued successful partnership between VHA and Ontario Health atHome. “When organizations like Ontario Health atHome and VHA come together, our shared goal of providing the highest quality of care to Ontarians really shines through,” proclaimed Dr. Nichol.

Colleen Briggs, Director at Ontario Health atHome for the Central region, also shared a few words to celebrate the opening. Also present to take part was Robert Campbell, Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, who o presented a certificate on behalf of the office of The Honourable Michael S. Kerzner, MPP for York Centre.

The opening of the clinic marks the third nursing clinic in the Central region where VHA supports operations, which also includes the North Clinic operating at VHA’s 30 Soudan Ave. head office. Clinics like these, in addition to the personal support, home nursing, rehab and Responsive Community Care services VHA provides, solidify VHA’s presence as a leading home and community care provider in the neighbourhoods of North York, across the GTA and beyond.

VHA is proud of our continued work caring for local residents, whether it be in a community care setting, such as the Sheppard West clinic, or directly in the homes of our clients. As the health-care needs of Ontarians grow and evolve, VHA and our partners like Ontario Health atHome continue to rise to the challenge. Expanding the capacity of community care through initiatives such as this new clinic helps ensure our friends, family and neighbours receive the care they need. We’re thrilled to be a part of making the great care Ontario Health atHome clients receive even better.
