VHA Home HealthCare (VHA), one of Ontario’s leading not-for-profit home and community care providers, is recruiting volunteers to serve as Directors on our Board or as members of one of our Board Standing Committees. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about home and community care and embrace our vision, mission and core beliefs.

Our skill-based Board is a reflection of our diverse community and we encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives and experiences to apply.

At this time we are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • strong business acumen
  • senior leadership experience in public and media relations
  • corporate law with significant governance expertise
  • senior level acute/primary care experience
  • a creative and entrepreneurial mind-set
  • a drive to make a difference and a willingness to leverage their networks and resources in support of our efforts to positively impact those we serve, as well as the policy and health care environment in which we do our work.

The culture of the VHA Board is very positive – striving for excellence and innovation through openness, mutual respect, healthy debate and strategic thinking. We pride ourselves on our ability to work effectively with fellow directors, management and external stakeholders, and we are committed to making a better and more integrated health care system with home and community care as an integral part of the system. You should be driven by the same goals and priorities.

Help us make a difference. At VHA we lend a helping hand to a wide spectrum of people across the province – children, seniors, families, new parents, those with physical and mental challenges and terminally ill individuals. Since 1925, VHA has provided high-quality, multilingual home and community care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We comprise more than 2,700 professionals, including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language pathologists, dieticians, social workers, personal support workers, and homemakers.

We are bright, passionate people with diverse backgrounds coming together to create a unique culture and achieve our vision: high quality care delivered with great heart – for every person, every time, everywhere. We are accredited with exemplary status by Accreditation Canada and a proud anchor agency of the United Way Greater Toronto. You can check us out at www.vha.ca.

If you are interested in helping to shape the future of our organization, please contact Patricia Triantafilou, Executive Assistant, at ptriantafilou@vha.ca who will send you an application package.

The deadline for receipt of applications is March 12, 2020.
