Peter Kinch has extensive experience in accounting, auditing, and financial services. A seasoned financial expert, he is a respected leader in reporting, risk, governance, and quality. Peter retired in 2020 from Ernst & Young LLP after a distinguished 39-year career, most recently serving as a partner in the firm’s Professional Practice advising external and internal audit clients on complex matters. Prior to that, he was an engagement partner serving clients in the financial services sector.

Peter currently sits on the board of Chubb Canada and serves in various volunteer capacities with The Presbyterian Church in Canada and exeQutive, a forum for GTA-based 2SLGBTQ+ leaders. He has previously served a number of not for profit and professional organizations, including as board chair of Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Family Service Toronto and Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.

A chartered professional accountant by training, Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, the highest distinction bestowed by that organization.

Father to three adult children and their partners, Peter lives in Toronto with his partner Frank.

Peter was appointed to the board of VHA Home HealthCare in 2025.
