Julia Hanigsberg retired from Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital at the end of December 2025. She had served as President and CEO there for eleven years.

Before joining Holland Bloorview, Julia’s career included a decade in the Ontario Public Service in policy and law in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Cabinet Office, culminating as Chief of Staff to the then Attorney General. After government, Julia spent a decade in post-secondary education as general counsel, governance head and Vice President responsible for administration and finance.

Julia has chaired and been a member of numerous not-for-profit Boards of Directors including Children’s Healthcare Canada and the Ontario Hospital Association, and she currently sits on the Boards of OECM, George Brown Polytechnic and Healthcare Collaborative Benefits in addition to VHA Home HealthCare. Her expertise includes healthcare, government relations, public policy, governance, partnerships, law and leadership.

Julia joined the VHA Board in 2025.
