Effective September 5, 2025, Trevor Heer has stepped into the role of Interim Vice President, Integrated Client & Community Care (IC&CC) and Chief Operating Officer at VHA Home HealthCare (VHA). Trevor is a stellar leader who is well-positioned to lead VHA’s IC&CC team over this transitionary period and be a valuable contributor as a member of VHA’s senior management team.

Trevor has been with VHA for six years and has made a significant contribution to the success and strength of the organization. In his most recent role as Senior Director IC&CC, Trevor was accountable for VHA’s operational programs and services in Central and Eastern Ontario. This includes Ontario Health atHome services (PSW, nursing, rehab and specialty services – palliative care and pediatrics), Responsive Community Care programs (Safer Spaces: Hoarding Support, Restored Home: Extreme Cleaning), Homemaking services (Homemakers and Nurses Services Program with the City of Toronto) and integrated care programs (North York CARES with North York General Hospital and Extensive Needs Service Respite program with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital). Trevor led or co-led several major organizational initiatives including VHA’s One Team Project, On-Call Reboot and has developed proposals and made significant contributions to VHA’s business growth initiatives. Trevor holds a Master of Health Science in Health Administration from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition and Food from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Sharing his thoughts on taking on this role, Trevor said “I am excited to bring forward new and impactful ideas that will help VHA provide the best possible care to clients and families. An important part of my work will be listening deeply to our staff and service providers and finding ways to improve their work experience by eliminating barriers and addressing the nagging ‘pebble in their shoe’. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to engage with provincial contacts and contribute to Ontario’s health system transformation.”

VHA is fortunate to have Trevor stepping into this interim position to continue the strong momentum on key 2025 priorities and the provision of high-quality care at home, delivered with heart.
