VHA’s unique Extreme Cleaning program helps vulnerable, isolated people over 55 dealing with age-related health conditions and/or mental illness facing eviction or institutionalization because of the unsanitary condition of their home.
VHA provides:
- Professionally-trained cleaners who’ll work with clients to meet public health standards
- Follow-up cleaning to avoid relapse
- Referrals and links to other local community support services for long-term needs
Cleaners will:
- De-clutter and discard unwanted items
- Wash walls, floors and windows
- Do laundry
- Clean and sanitize appliances cupboards and closets
- Prepare home for pest and bedbug treatments if needed
Funding may be available for this service. Extreme Cleaning can also be purchased for those in need of one-time heavy-duty cleaning help.
