What are the Client Choice Awards?
VHA's annual Client Choice Awards give clients and families an opportunity to nominate VHA care team members who have really made a difference and recognize them for demonstrating high quality care delivered with great heart. Does your care provider deliver spectacular care at home, delivered with heart and led by science? Be sure to nominate them for a Client Choice Award.
Each year we receive hundreds of nominations which are all carefully reviewed by our selection committee. Nominated workers receive recognition of their nomination and up to 10 winners and 10 honourable mentions are selected.
Client Choice award winners receive a $500 award and an engraved plaque. A special tribute video is also created to highlight their unique contributions and impact. In the fall, we celebrate with our winners and honourable mentions at VHA's Staff and Service Provider Recognition Event.
How do I nominate my care provider?
Nomination for our Client Choice Awards are open starting April 15th until Sunday, May 31st, 2026. We encourage you to share as much information as possible.
If a VHA care provider has had a meaningful impact on you and your family, we encourage you to nominate them for a Client Choice Award. VHA team members in any of the following roles can be nominated for a Client Choice Award:
- Personal Support Worker
- Nurse
- Care Team Scheduling Coordinator
- Nursing Coordinator
- Rehab Coordinator
- Occupational Therapist
- Physiotherapist
- Therapist Assistants (OTA/PTA)
- Extreme Cleaner
- Home Support Worker
- Hoarding Support Coach
- Speech Language Pathologist
- Dietitian
- Social Worker
- Pharmacist
- Behavioural Support Worker
- Child and Family Support Worker
