Issue 26, December 2020

No doubt about it, 2020 has been a challenging and heartbreaking year on so many fronts. We know it has been particularly difficult for many who have been isolated and have had difficulty accessing programs they have relied on in the past. I have had the opportunity to hear from many of you who have shared that your VHA care providers have been so helpful during this time and I am so appreciative of the ways they have responded to this crisis to keep themselves and their clients and families safe. During this holiday season as we are entering lockdown across Ontario, I am doing my best to focus on the rays of light that I am grateful for in these dark times and the huge hearts of all our team members is certainly the brightest of these lights.

In this issue of VOICE we are sharing some guidance on staying safe and positive during this very different holiday season along with some stories showcasing work that has been happening across VHA throughout 2020. These stories and countless others remind me of the strength and compassion that is at the core of VHA and our many partners.

I hope you enjoy the stories below and that there will be many other gifts of gratitude for you and yours this holiday season. With news of the vaccine on its way may we look forward with hope to a brighter new year ahead for everyone.

Be well,
