VHA’s Parent Relief Program
Our Parent Relief Program provides temporary relief and support services to families caring for children from birth to six years of age. Our relief services allow parents to:
- Take a break from the demands of parenting
- Run errands or go to appointments
- Take time out of their busy schedule to attend to their own needs
As a VHA volunteer you’ll:

Volunteers are supported through an extensive orientation, monthly meetings, workshops, seminars and one-on-one supervision. Applying is easy.
The three step process to becoming a VHA volunteer usually takes about two to three weeks to complete.
Step 1: Complete our simple online application.
Step 2: Interview. We’ll contact you for an interview to help determine if a VHA volunteer opportunity is right for you.
Step 3: Confirming information. If we appear to have a match, VHA will conduct a criminal reference check, verify your employment references and do any other necessary assessments.
The entire three-step process usually takes approximately two to three weeks.
