Client Service Supervisor - Personal Support Services

Permanent Full Time

Reporting to the Manager, Client Services you will supervise field staff, Personal Support Workers and Home Support Workers, within the GTA area. You will conduct in home visits with our clients and will establish care plans as appropriate.  As a member of the Client Services team, you will monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with VHA’s standards of excellence.

 

You have exceptional clinical assessment skills and are an excellent communicator with the ability to interact in a professional manner with clients, funders, staff teams and community partners.  You are culturally competent, interacting effectively with diverse clients and staff.  You are able to write clear and concise field and supervisory reports.  You possess knowledge and understanding of the home care system and have solid working knowledge of medical terminology.  You are keen to utilize new technology and have strong computer skills including familiarity with client database applications such as Goldcare. 

 

You can work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.  Ideally, you possess prior supervisory experience within a unionized setting and know what it takes to build a highly engaged staff team.  You possess strong assessments skills and effectively interact with others in communicating your findings.  As a supervisor, you have working knowledge of relevant employment statutes including the OHSA, ESA and OHRC. You possess post secondary education/training, preferably in Social Sciences or Health Sciences combined with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience. A valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle are required.  You demonstrate efforts to continually develop and upgrade skills to achieve organizational and client goals.  Knowledge of a second language is a definite asset.
