Developed in late 2007, the Strategic Plan will guide VHA until the end of 2010 and is supported by four pillars.

Pillar I: Ensuring organizational sustainability, growth and development by:
• Working hard to keep current clients satisfied
• Identifying new opportunities
• Further building our reputation in the community

Pillar II: Collaborating to respond to community needs by:
• Keeping positive relationships with community organizations (United Way, CCACs, COTA Health, etc.)
• Building new partnerships to meet identified needs

Pillar III: Strengthening organizational capacity by:
• Improving employee training and development
• Investing in technology
• Constantly reviewing and improving practices and procedures
• Being a “workplace of choice”

Pillar IV: Fostering innovation and excellence by:
• Continuing to work to the highest standards
• Encouraging new ideas
• Developing areas of clinical specialization
• Looking for ways to make things easier, safer and better for clients and staff
