Founded in 1925 as the Visiting Homemakers Association, VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) - a not-for-profit, charitable organization - provides 24/7 health care and support services to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds when, where and how they want it. We offer high-quality, multi-lingual care to people throughout Ontario to support a more independent life.
VHA proudly meets the rigorous criteria set out by Accreditation Canada. VHA is a member agency of the United Way Toronto and is a contracted provider for several Community Care Access Centres including:
- Toronto Central
- Central East
- Central West
- Central
- Erie St. Clair
- South West
- Mississauga Halton
- Champlain
We also contract to provide in-home services with the City of Toronto's Homemakers and Nurses Services Program and Durham Region.
In July, 2009, COTA Health's Rehabilitation Services--renowned for its client-centred, skilled and professional approach to health care since it's inception in 1973--joined the VHA family to become VHA Rehab Solutions. VHA Rehab Solutions provides physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy as well as social work and nutritional services for clients to achieve the best outcomes possible. Rehabilitation services are currently available in:
- The Greater Toronto Area
- London
- The Ottawa Region
